Employee Career Statements

"I Joined REP straight after graduating as an Assistant Engineer. I was initially trained in design work for the new Rolls-Royce engine at the time. After 6 months I passed probation and was promoted to Engineer. Within a year I had been rotated to the verification team where I learnt Low-Level test and Software Integration Testing, both for the Rolls-Royce account.
After 1 year with the company I was the test lead for the Rolls-Royce Software Integration team. 6 Months later I was given the opportunity to take a Project Management role for the first time, with a small project for a new customer (Oxford Bio-Signals).
Following this small project I was asked to help close a large project as Project Manager (Westinghouse Rail) with our Software Manager supporting me. After this project I was promoted to Project Manager permanently (2 years after joining). My first large project of my own was a contract for our new customer MTU Aero Engines.
After the successful completion of this project I moved back to the Rolls-Royce verification team; this time as Project Manager. Now, (3 years after joining) I am the phase manager for Rolls-Royce verification projects running a team of 25 engineers and 1 other Project Manager.”

"After completing my MEng in Computer Systems Engineering from Birmingham University, I joined REP as a Graduate Engineer in 2006. Since then I have been working on various projects for the railway and aerospace industries.

My first project was working for a team undertaking software verification for a railway communication system, and my second involved software verification for a new engine development programme. After gaining valuable experience in software verification, I was given the opportunity to work as the sole developer on a data compiler project for a rail customer, where I had the chance to complete the software development from requirement capture to code implementation. In 2008 I was asked to be the Team Lead for a challenging software verification project for an aero engine manufacturer, where I provided several successful customer deliveries. Later in 2010, I was also given the opportunity to work on an internal software development project where I was involved in the full software development lifecycle. I am currently working as a test authority on a joint venture project for a motor device for a new generation of Boeing aircraft.

I really enjoy my work for Resource Engineering Projects. It’s a very fast-paced and dynamic working environment and the people are friendly. There is a good personal development structure to facilitate career progression and employee satisfaction, and you are given the opportunity to get involved in so many projects that you will never be bored. Your contribution is always recognised and appreciated - I was promoted to Engineer and then again to Senior Engineer. I’d recommend it as a great place to work!"
