A Simulating Issue
By Matthew Noonan and and Sean Parkinson, Resource Engineering Projects
This paper looks at the verification of FPGA-based firmware when used in safety and/or mission-critical applications, as it presents a number of challenges- including confirming that your testbenches are able to catch errors. The paper discussed the reasons for using a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) within an embedded system and potential benefits that can be realised. Also included in this paper is discussion of Design Flow, Requirements Capture, Conceptual Design, Detailed Design and Implementation.
